Hi I believe the Yamaha front end is lighter,as uses alloy yokes, big plus is very adjustable, larger diameter so ride off road real plush, for the bearings I just measured the Suzuki outer size of bearing that fits into frame then measured Yamaha stem for inner size of bearing. Then put sizes to bearing supplier, and ordered.

Ok, sounds simple enough and thanks for the info. So i'm on the lookout for WR450F - any particular years to look for / avoid ? I've heard the DRZ400 front end might also work

Hi my forks were from a 2004 model, but yeah it’s it’s quite easy to a adapt any fork, but I found the Yamaha 426/450 frame was the same depth as the Suzuki so that the stem was correct length and needed no modification. Before I put the wr forks in I had a set of Yamaha R1 super bike forks in,but looked cool, but road awful as to short and messed front geometry up,+to stiff

Interesting looking build , looks very professionally done  only a trained eye could tell what it started life as ! Not much on eBay at the mo apart from some over the pond , but a few DRZ set ups so could end up with a set from those- will have to wait a few months anyway so plenty time to research all my options. Definitely wanna upgrade though as i'm tempted to do some sections of the TET next year if i can find the time (and dosh). Got a himalaya trip in the pipeline (not on the DR) so that's gonna drain the kitty somewhat...
Thanks again for your input , much appreciated,
Lee
