I`ll be going from Essex, probably down the A12 and then via the North Peculiar, though it depends on the weather.

Big southern softies!

Us northerners laugh in the face of snow!

(then we sneak off back to bed to keep warm!)

Let me know what time you´re planning to get there as I´m gonna try and get up there myself.

You wouldn`t have laughed Big Grin if you had been out with me on wednesday afternoon. I got caught up in the mother of all blizzards about 25 miles from home. Within seconds, visibility was down to about 20 metres, and in five minutes there was several inches of snow on the road. It wasn`t the depth of snow that worried me, as it hadn`t yet compacted, so I still could ride slowly (though the rear wheel did keep spinning up), or the fact that the only way home was through twisty windy lanes, or the fact that I kept meeting oncoming cars with no lights on. Nope, it was the fact that my visor was completely covered in snow, and I didn`t have a spare hand to wipe it with, so I rode home blind. My, what fun! Mrs Big Bob was sitting at home watching out of the front window worried sick that I had come to a very sticky end, or was lost in the white wilderness and had frozen to death. By the time I got home, it was six inches deep on the road, and I looked like a snowman with several inches of snow and ice on me riding up our driveway. The bike was also covered in ice, snow and a number of hanging icicles. Mrs Big Bob then proceeded to give me a very serious telling off for being a silly old fool and going out on a bike at the wrong time of year. Those of you who know Mrs Big Bob will know that she is not a women to be trifled with Cry Huh! Wimmin got no sense of adventure! :D So I`m confined to barracks apparently until the spring weather returns. Methinks I`ll be going AWOL this afternoon, and to hell with the consequences! Big Grin
