Headlight cover to beak connection

Does anyone else have the issue of the headlight cover to beak connection coming loose? I've put an extended windshield on my bike and the wind tends to pull this connection apart, can't seem to get it any tighter, any work arounds on this one?

The method used to attach the cover to the beak was devised by a deranged half wit with no idea.
It also means the design doesn`t allow access to the indicator nuts unless you have a 5 year old girls hands.
I used Plastex to securely fix the screen in place permanently
